Mrs. Gardiner Takes a Hand

Mrs. Bennet and Mrs. Phillips are bound for Bath to take the waters. The Mistress of Longbourn could not willingly part from her other duties if it were not for Mrs. Gardiner of Gracechurch Street, who at Elizabeth's request, will take up residence for the few months her sister-in-law is absent. Mrs. Bennet may be doubtful that her brother's wife could manage her family even half so well as herself, but given the enjoyment Bath promises, she assures herself that no permanent alterations will be made at home.

Mrs. Gardiner hopes otherwise and when the neighbouring estate, Netherfield Park, is let to a young gentleman of fortune, her guiding influence may prove to be exceptionally beneficial.
